I am a former prosecutor and born litigator. I’ve spent over a decade working in child protection and I appreciate the complexities that arise when children are involved in litigation. I am also a nurturer who will be your advocate and a source of support. I am passionate about empowering my clients to plan for the future.

Family Law

Conflict is stressful. Whether it’s the dissolution of your marriage or a suit affecting your children – it’s hard. I’m here to help you through it. My goal is to guide you to the other side of the litigation as peacefully and economically as possible. When utilizing the courtroom is unavoidable, I am a fierce advocate. I’ve tried hundreds of cases and have no fear of litigating. I’m the advocate you want in your corner.

Child Care Licensing and Regulation

Navigating the complex regulations, red-tape and overlap between HHS and DFPS can be a logistical nightmare. I worked for years for these agencies as a regulatory attorney who specialized in child care licensing and regulation. Now, I get to hold them accountable and ensure your interests are protected. I have litigated hundreds of due process hearings before the State Office of Administrative Hearings. I regularly represent clients in administrative reviews to challenge improper citations. From permitting issues to defending against deficiencies, I have the expertise to defend you and your business.

Child Protective Investigations (formerly CPS) and Child Care Investigations (Licensing)

Child Protective Investigations can threaten your sense of security at home. I am intimately familiar with every aspect of these investigations, having worked as both an investigator for DFPS and also as an attorney who defended investigation findings in litigation. It’s important to have an advocate who can protect your rights from unreasonable agency intrusion.

Similarly, Child Care Investigations can threaten your security at work. Whether you are under investigation or have an employee facing allegations, it’s important to strategically plan your response to an investigation to ensure the allegations are properly vetted. I recommend taking a proactive approach and can help you develop the strategy to protect you interests.

If any investigation results in a finding being made, you have both an agency-level appeal and a due process hearing before the State Office of Administrative Hearings. I will shoulder the burden of navigating the appeals process and will zealously advocate for your defense.

Amicus and Guardian Ad Litem Appointments

Child advocacy work holds a special place in my heart. I love working with kids and advocating for their best interests. Child advocacy work blends my background as an investigator and my experience as a family law attorney with my passion for helping kids.
