I have worked in child protection at DFPS and HHS for nearly a decade as an investigator, investigation supervisor, and inspector. As an attorney, I work hard to hold investigators and inspectors accountable to following their own policies and procedures. I’m passionate about providing my clients with a thoughtful analysis. I value the importance of listening and understanding all perspectives before making decisions, ensuring that every case is approached with a level of dedication and precision that allows for the best possible outcome.

Child Care Licensing and Regulation

Navigating the complex regulations, red-tape and overlap between HHS and DFPS can be a logistical nightmare. Having worked for years for these agencies as an investigator, investigation supervisor, and inspector, I now get to hold them accountable and ensure your interests are protected. I regularly represent clients in administrative reviews before Childcare Enforcement to challenge improper citations issued by HHS’ Childcare Regulation. From permitting issues to defending against citations and enforcement actions, I have the expertise to defend you and your operation. I’m intimately familiar with the Minimum Standards and specialize in helping troubleshoot areas of risk within your operation to reduce deficiencies.

Child Protective Investigations (formerly CPS) and Child Care Investigations (Licensing)

Having Child Protective Investigations in your life can bring tremendous stress and uncertainty. I spent years on the front lines working as an investigator and as an investigations supervisor. I know how to hold the Department accountable, ensuring that your family’s rights are protected along the way. In the event that a finding is made, it can impact you well into the future in a myriad of ways. I can defend you in your due process hearings both before DFPS staff and before the State Office of Administrative Hearings.

I also spent time as a Child Care Investigator, investigating allegations of abuse or neglect in regulated childcare settings. Holding HHS accountable is important to me, and I’ve guided my clients through investigations and challenging any resulting findings within each agency during administrative reviews and also in due process appeals before the State Office of Administrative Hearings.

Family Law

I focus on providing my clients with a thoughtful analysis, tailored to suit their needs.  I specialize in drafting and strategic planning for the future. I’m here to help you settle your family law dispute as peacefully as possible.
